The Swatch Box Is the Stich Fix of Home Decor


If you’re discerning and know exactly what you like when you see it but can’t find the have time to shop for things like drink coasters and decorative blankets, a new company called The Swatch Box will do that for you.

How does it work? You answer questions online, guided by your answers a Swatch Box stylist pulls together six to 12 beautiful, often-handmade things (totaling around $1,000 to $2,000) each quarter, and then the company delivers it to your doorstep. You keep what you love and return the rest.

Expect things like pillows stitched from vintage Southwestern textiles, doughy cashmere throws, handwoven baskets, oversized wooden bowls, and handsome barware. You’ll get pieces from local brands (including Hedge OutdoorBarrington BlueCindy Ciskowski, and Luke Hobbs Design), established designers and design studios, and up-and-coming names in home decor.

The Swatch Box will send boxes anywhere, but their roots are firmly planted in Los Angeles. Ryan Moore, the CEO, tells us, “L.A. was the top choice when it came to our headquarters in large part because of the unique mix of artisans, talented designers and customers looking for something new and different.” We’re sold.
