Which pieces are key for staging a house that’s on the market?
Place lamps wherever you can. Ambient lighting creates mood. Artwork is very important because it’s personal. I like to have a “money piece” when you first walk in the front door, something beautiful and elegant that sets the stage for the rest of the house. It could be French or Italian or industrial, but it has to make a statement.

Where do you shop?
Rumba in Santa Monica for midcentury everything. On La Cienega, Pat McGann for quirky artwork, and Mecox Gardens has everything I want (lamps, tables, rugs). Blackman Cruz and J.F. Chen, on Highland, have tons of things I drool over. For exceptional transitional furniture and accessories, I go to Grace Home in Brentwood.
