Strolling
From the parking lot, walk the paved road that meanders along the river, shaded by alders and sycamores. Bring a picnic.

Pedaling
On a bike, the 7.3-mile trip to Cogs-well Dam is a gentle 500-foot elevation gain, and you can coast all the way back down.

Angling
In the deeper pools you can cast for rainbow trout—both dim-witted hatchery trout and wily wild ones.

Camping
Bike or walk in to Glenn Camp, 6.2 miles in. Or backpack to oak groves in Bear Canyon, a tributary north from the river at the one-mile mark.

Getting There: From East Fork Rd., continue on Hwy 39, 1.3 miles past the East Fork Rd. junction. Park in the lot north of the bridge over the West Fork; the gated road begins on the south side of the bridge.
