Briarwood Park

Best Secret Park, August 2008

The general rule for play dates in the 310 and the 818 is that someone has to schlepp from one side of the hill to the other. If people only knew about  Briarwood Park , tucked away in a residential neighborhood off Angelo Drive at the top of Beverly Glen. There’s a meadow and a fenced playground with sand, the requisite climbing apparatus, and swings. The expanse of mature pines and oaks makes it feel forestlike. A steep path near the entrance leads to an even larger grassy area and what may well be the most picturesque basketball court in town, surrounded in summer by blooming mustard plants.
