Ye Olde King’s Head Gift Shoppe
Best British Goods, August 2011
For a taste of home, British expatriates (and Anglophiles) get their fix at Ye Olde King’s Head Gift Shoppe. The three rooms overflow with imported “necessities”: Scottish wool blankets, bath products, London city maps, bone china teapots, PG Tips teas, HP Sauce, canned haggis, Cadbury chocolate, lemon curd—the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would be proud. (The royal couple’s commemorative mugs nearly sold out the day before the wedding.) In the refrigerated cases are delectables: Wensleydale cheese, Hobgoblin beer, steak and kidney pies, sausage rolls, crumpets, and other snacks.
