Following a stint designing Lily et Cie’s in-house line of dresses and sportswear, M’Lynn Hass went solo to make gowns inspired by 1930s Hollywood. In Haas’s hands, techniques involving intricate inner construction, metal boning, and hand-stitching are given a modern spin when used on dead stock material like taffeta and natural fibers such as silk and pineapple cloth (similar to organza). Commissions start at around $1,000.
