Best Makeup, March 2005
When Dineh Mohajer launched Hard Candy here ten years ago, we couldn’t get enough of the pastel blue nail polishes and the glittery charcoal shadows. Now with business partner Jeanne Chavez she has introduced Goldie, a Pasadena-based line that’s less trendy and more indie, with color kits that can be layered or mixed and matched (the “Face Kit” offers six shades of lip gloss alone). Its “sweet-meets-street” m.o. is the reason why the glosses have cute names like “Velveteen” and “Pomme” but also explains the pink doodles on the packaging shaped like skulls and wild animals. While other L.A. labels go after the same cool vibe, Goldie is a way to express your nice and naughty selves at once. Available at Bath & Body Works
