Alternative is for guys who want to look, well, normal. The 16-year-old brand known for wholesale sportswear opened its first outlet in a converted 1920s Venice bungalow this spring. The store is filled to its reclaimed-wood rafters with versatile thermal cardigans, perfect-length twill shorts, and T-shirts in cotton as soft as a tenor sax interlude. One more reason to go? Accessories director Mollie Culligan’s rugged canvas and leather laptop bags don’t resemble man purses.
