The Local Peasant

Best Place to Drink with Your Kids in Tow, August 2012

The waitresses atThe Local Peasant, a two-year-old Sherman Oaks gastropub, are so sweet and patient with the younger guests, it seems as if a degree in child psychology is a prerequisite for employment. With 20 beers on tap, eminently drinkable cocktails, and a healthy stock of high chairs, the bar attracts families in the early evening hours. The rock and roll soundtrack is at just the right volume: You can hear your kids, but the guys watching the game have already forgotten they’re there.
