Chef Christine Banta (Granita, Michael’s) has livened up the menu at this old-timer, where chandeliers, drapes, and a California-baroque theme reign. Her soft-shell crab tempura comes with watercress, carrot pesto, and yuzu aioli, the Kurobuta pork chop with Parmesan gnocchi, rapini, and a violet-mustard sauce. For dessert, try the poached peach with almond biscotti and ginger ice cream. The patio’s one of the most romantic around.
