The Tustin izakaya (Japanese pub food) favorite now has a location in Little Tokyo on the third floor of Mitsuwa Plaza, a complex that’s partly deserted and a little spooky in the evenings. The best offerings are on the yakitori list—liver, scallops, sausage, and bacon arrive smoking off the robata. Grilled dishes on the main menu, like marinated black cod and salmon teriyaki, seem a little less vibrant. Honda-Ya’s prices and its late-night hours may be what recommend it the most.
