Green Street Tavern

This 30-seat addition to Old Pasadena offers some of the neighborhood’s better cooking. Dishes such as grilled heirloom tomatoes with burrata and a special of seared scallops with crispy prosciutto make for a promising start. Entrées range from Spanish-style marinated chicken breast on a bed of paella (if only the bird were as flavorful as the chorizo) to a petit filet with Gorgonzola pommes puree to a gnocchi that is somewhat overwhelmed by a bushel of mushrooms. Desserts lack oomph, but the convivial room and staff pick up the slack.
