For all the restaurants that line our coasts, there’s an astonishing lack of good ol’ seafood shacks. BP Oysterette is on the right track, with an oceanfront location, fresh steamers (clams), a puffy lobster roll, creamy clam chowder, and, of course, oysters—raw, fried, or Rockefeller. For true shack status, BP would need to add a few more deep-fried items (calamari’s not enough), work on a heftier beer list (Guinness, Stella, and Kirin Light were the only draft options on our visit), and dirty up that spotless subway-tiled interior (though we think it’s sharp). The place is tiny; if the tables are full, there’s always the oyster bar. The three tables outside are spot-on for sunset watching.
