Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens

Best Annual Plant Sale, August 2011

The spring and fall plant sales at the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens are as well curated as the paintings and sculpture that reside on the property. The May and October events, which feature specimens grown here, are held in the parking lot outside the main entrance. Among the rows of delicate seedlings are heirloom tomatoes ($1.25) and German chamomile ($2.75). The succulents and cacti (starting at $4)  are some of the rarest in the world; the same varieties can be found in the Huntington’s ten-acre Desert Garden. Pick up a few rosebushes, trees, shrubs, and climbing vines, too.
