West Hollywood Public Library

Best Kids’ Story Hour, August 2012

No wonder the free Saturday morning readings in the children’s theater at the West Hollywood Public Library are so well attended. The volunteers are all professional performers who aren’t shy about roaring, using a silly voice, or just putting on a show. Geared to the youngest set, the 45-minute event (organized by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation’s BookPALS program) usually pairs two performers who tag-team on authors such as Eric Carle, Mo Willems, and Kevin Henkes. Mom and Dad might be tired on Saturday morning, but these folks bring it.
