Best Pinball + Pint, August 2015
At this downtown Arts District barcade, patrons are greeted by two things: a pair of tapsters and a satisfying din of whirs, blips, dings, and beeps emanating from more than 40 restored games and pinball machines dating back to the 1970s. Fuel a Galaga hot streak with cold-brew coffee cocktails and other handcrafted drinks or celebrate a perfect round of Pac-Man with one of ten beers on draft (in addition to a rotating roster of cans and bottles). Those who need to give their combo-weary trigger fingers a rest can saunter out to the bar’s patio. There’s no cover charge, but game play requires quarters—scrounge between couch cushions or make use of the two in-house change machines.
