East Meets West Antiques
Best Quilts, August 2015
When you buy a quilt from Lewis Keister, you’ll discover whole new meanings for “feather,” “spiderweb,” “postage stamp,” and “log cabin.” (They’re patchwork designs.) Nearly all of the blankets at his shop, East Meets West Antiques, were made before 1950 and range in price from about $400 to $20,000. No matter your home decor, there’s a quilt to match. One red, white, and blue number features hand-cut profiles of the presidents. A spring green rendition bears an elegant motif of white and yellow flowering dogwood. Whatever your choice, rest assured there’s not another like it in the city.
