Set high in the Hollywood Hills, the midcentury-modern Case Study House No. 22, aka the Stahl House, offers a better-than-Runyon view of the city. The surroundings are ritzy, but a tour of the classic home, immortalized by the late photographer Julius Shulman, feels more personal than self-righteous. At least one of the docents is a member of the Stahl family, and all are well versed in lineage lore.
