Introduce Kids to the Classics

Children might balk at listening to classical music in a building that shares a name (but little else) with the Happiest Place on Earth. Forge on. The shiny swoops of Disney Hall can be persuasive, even for 5- to 11-year-olds—the targeted demographic of the near-monthly Toyota Symphonies for Youth series. Complete with actors and the L.A. Phil, each performance is a manageable hour. Arrive by 10 a.m. for the “petting zoo,” where children can fiddle with a variety of instruments.—MATTHEW SEGAL
