After the way the Lakers crashed and burned, a little X Games carnage won’t seem out of place downtown. The 17th edition of this Thunderdome Olympiad features the usual array of clavicle-rattling motocross, skateboard vert ramps, BMX stunts, and irrational exuberance. There’ll also be something extra: For the first time the X Games’ rally car racing is moving out of an arena setting and onto nearby streets—meaning drivers may have to plow head-on into that most dreaded of all-terrain obstacles, the Movie Shoot.
