Event Navigation
So it’s not like pastrami was ever out of fashion, but it feels like the tangy lunchmeat is having its moment in the sun—or under the heat lamp. Now, two of L.A.’s contenders for this season’s Top Chef Boston, Mexikosher’s Chef Katsuji Tanabe & Chef Mei Lin of INK, will together host a multi-course feast dedicated to pastrami. On Monday, November 17, the duo will present the Kosher version at Mexikosher, with the non-Kosher edition following on Tuesday evening, November 18th.
Family style dishes include starters of croquetas de pastrami, with salsa roja, mains like Mei Lin’s now famous congee (here, offered with pastrami black garlic chips and pickled radish) and Jamaican jerk pastrami with scotch bonnet peppers, sweet banana, and dirty rice. Even dessert includes pastrami!
Wine experts will be on hand at The Nosh to present boutique wines of Baja; kosher wine selections will be available at Mexikosher for the night of this private event only.
