When we heard his first single, Just Aint Gonna Work Out, we were surprised to find out that Mayer Hawthorne was a 30-year old white dude. Influenced by classic black soul artists, he possesses a sound from another era. He’s also a multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer, DJ, and rapper who records hip hop under the stage name Haircut.
