Good Food Festival and Conference
November 2, 2012 @ 12:00 AM - November 4, 2012 @ 12:00 AM
The second Good Food Festival and Conference strives to promote healthful, accessible food that’s sustainable, humane, and produced close to home—wherever that may be. Kicking off the events on November 2 is urban farmer and MacArthur “Genius” Will Allen, who joins students from John Muir High School in a “barn raising” on the campus. On Saturday the Los Angeles County Museum of Art hosts a series of discussions on everything from “Building Community with Food” to the GMO labeling debate. The Annenberg Community Beach House is the setting on Sunday for the Localicious fund-raising tasting event, which showcases 30 L.A. chefs teamed with 30 farmers. Participants include Fig’s Ray Garcia paired with Glorias, Josie’s Josie Le Balch with Tutti Frutti, and Rustic Canyon’s Jeremy Strubel with Weiser Family Farms. Tickets to the blowout are $150; proceeds go to familyfarmed.org. More information.
