Community Bread Bake at Grist & Toll
November 23, 2014 @ 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Get ready to have your mind blown: Thanksgiving isn’t actually all about stuffing yourself silly. It’s about expressing gratitude for the good things in your life—sure, like pie—and thinking about those less fortunate than us. And maybe, just maybe, even doing something to help them. Pasadena boutique flour miller Grist & Toll is channeling the true spirit of the holiday by opening its ovens to the local bread baking community on November 23 with the goal of baking and donating 100 loaves to the area’s Foothill Unity Center.
Want to get your whole wheat boule in on the action? Email [email protected] with the number of loaves you’d like to bake and donate as well as stating your oven load in time preference (11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m., or 5 p.m.). The celebration also marks the shop’s one-year anniversary. Translation: beverages and snacks will be provided.
