Julius Caesar did not, it turns out, eat Caesar salads. This delicious historical tidbit and others are served at this event, featuring food historian Andrew Dalby. Dalby identifies the wines and produces the luxuries and spices that would have made up a swank dinner 2,000 years ago. Following the academic stuff, guests enter the villa for a four-course dinner that’s inspired by recipes from ancient Rome. Tickets are $75 per person. More information.
