It’s only been a few months since Miracle Mile’s Petersen Automotive Museum began its $125 million renovation and already we have evidence of a complete overhaul. The Urbanize LA blog captured this shot of the museum’s new exterior, which will be swathed in silver ribbons courtesy of architect Kohn Pedersen Fox.
While the exterior will be especially dramatic, the interior will be no slouch. The completed museum will add 22 new galleries; the museum will encompass 300,000 square feet of prime real estate. Petersen is hoping to be the nation’s preeminent auto museum, and it will sit across from the world’s preeminent film museum, when the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences open their ode to celluloid across the street in a few years. Exciting times, indeed.
