“The Taste of Mexico” Celebrates Regional Mexican Cooking Downtown

One week after Black Friday, Los Angeles will get its own unofficial Brown Friday as the second annual Taste of Mexico festival highlights just how damn lucky we Angelenos are to have local chefs and restaurants that prepare regional Mexican cuisine that’s authentic, and most importantly, excellent.

Tickets are $50 (VIP early admission: $70), which includes samples of beer, tequila, and mezcal, along with tastes from participating restaurants: Mexikosher, Candela Taco Bar, Casa Azul, Frida, Guelaguetza, Guisados, Coni’Seafood, La Casita Mexicana, La Monarca Bakery, La Sandia, La Tiendita, Loteria Grill, Playa, Red O, Tortas Bravas, and Yuca’s.

Mariachi bands and regional dancers help set the mood. Proceeds from the event benefit the Los Angeles Downtown Art Walk.
