Tasting Kitchen’s Bourbon Dinner: Everything’s Better With Booze

When we hear the words “Bourbon Dinner”, we’re immediately reminded of the time we had a few too many Old-Fashions on an empty stomach. But for the staff at Venice’s Tasting Kitchen, it means something else entirely. On June 13, the restaurant will host a special Bourbon Dinner collaboration between head chef Casey Lane, bartender John Coltharp, and Buffalo Trace, the country’s oldest whiskey distilling site and distributor of award-winning labels like George T. Stagg. If the thought of several-cocktails’ worth of Kentucky’s finest doesn’t having you licking you lips then Lane’s four-course pairing dinner should do the trick. Dessert will feature a comparative tasting of straight whiskeys narrated by Jim Bryant of Buffalo Trace. The event looks to be an excellent and educational pairing of fine food and drink, though we’d recommend finding a ride home after such a studious night of “bourbon research”. Tickets are a bargain at $80 per person, but the event is limited to 15 spots, so a seat may be hard to come by if you’re not quick on the trigger. RSVP to [email protected]
