Even fine-dining establishments are pivoting to takeout.
Chef Dave Beran’s acclaimed Santa Monica tasting-menu restaurant Dialogue is offering three-course meals to-go for $35. Tonight, there’s a slow-cooked pork belly served with Italian wedding soup and a vegetarian option with roasted cauliflower Milanese and a caramelized onion and pumpkin seed soup. Both meals include a slice of burnt Basque cheesecake for dessert.
At Beran’s other restaurant, the French charmer Pasjoli—one of our favorite openings of last year—there’s a fun mix of high-and low. Go for pizza ($12), a burger ($18), a grilled cheese ($14) or hot fried chicken ($16)—or splurge on half an ounce of California estate sturgeon caviar ($30). There are also numerous sweets on offers, from Valrhone chocolate chip cookies ($3) to sweet buns ($6).
