This Sunday marks the recurrence of one of the most highly anticipated, annual foodie events in the city. Oh, and the Gold Standard event is happening, too. (Zing!) But seriously folks, if for some reason (some sick, sick reason) you have room left in your belly after filling it with a daring mix of ceviche (Mo-Chica), spicy Thai (Jitlada), paté (Waterloo & City) and barbecue (Bludso’s) at the Petersen Automotive Museum, Suzanne Goin is here to finish you off—with cassoulet no less! Yes, March 6 is also Lucques ’ annual Sunday Supper Cassoulet Night.
In addition to the cassoulet de maison with duck confit, pork confit, garlic sausage and white beans, diners can nibble a salad of young greens with vernières Roquefort, walnuts, walnut oil, and honey and end with a slice of gascon almond cake with roasted apples and prune-armagnac ice cream.
Those prunes might come in handy if you do try the Gold/Lucques double hitter… We don’t, I repeat, DON’T, recommend it. Bon appetit!
