chef Brandon Boudet hails from New Orleans. Maybe it’s his menu’s endless Mardis Gras specials and Big Easy-inspired dishes that clued you in? Here he is with a new one, just in time for the warm weekend ahead. Starting April 15, Little Dom’s Deli (the cozy take-out spot nextdoor to Little Dom’s) will be serving traditional Sno Balls
, the New Orleans shaved ice dessert chacterized by the endless array of flavors and the optional creamy element like condensed milk or crème fraiche. The Los Feliz restaurant will offer house-made syrups including blueberry, raspberry, dark roasted espresso, rich chocolate, nectar cream made from fresh almonds, and coconut cream made from toasted coconuts. Among the toppings are fresh whipped crème fraiche, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and gelato—yes, gelato is considered a topping when it comes to snoballs. The icey treats come served in an adorable red and white paper cup. Snag one while they’re hot—er, cold.
