In Los Angeles, more so than any other major city, it seems like there are innumerable ways to “beat the system.” Dollar al pastor tacos sliced off the trompo. 35 cent martinis at the Edison on Thursdays. $2.50 banh mi sandwiches at Buu Dien. Angelenos desire fancy tasting menus too, but they certainly respect the frugal find. It’s just how we roll here.
So here’s another steal of a deal to keep in mind: every Tuesday The Rockefeller is now offering 99-cent burgers all night long at both Manhattan and Hermosa Beach locations. Head Chef Cody Diegel–who previously worked at The Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills and most recently opened The Larchmont in Hollywood–is topping his burgers with roasted poblano peppers, pepper jack cheese, house made guacamole, frisee salad, and lime crema.
If your post-burger commute has you heading inland on Tuesday, November 4th, make sure to swing by the iconic red booth, former Rat Pack hangout Dominick’s in West Hollywood. In honor of the restaurant’s 66th anniversary they’ll be offering Russian Standard 66-cent martinis. A night on the town for $1.65? I think even Sinatra–the epitome of class–would approve.
