A fellow LA Mag staffer stopped into South Pasadena’s Lil’ Parlour—the new pizzeria by Steven Arroyo that took over for his just-shuttered 750 ml. Aside from reporting back about decent thin crust pizzas (almost too thin?) and a long awaited espresso machine on the way, he said the manager had a theory on why 750 ml failed. Apparently, business was doing gangbusters for the first year, but they lost it when Mike and Anne’s up the road opened their bar. Makes sense, really. I mean, have you seen that patio?
…Arroyo shouldn’t feel too bad, though. Eater LA reports that Bastide’s Walter Manske is stepping in at Church and State. It’s a Christmas miracle!
