Ricardo Zarate’s Paiche Opens April 2, How You Can Go Earlier

L.A.’s Peruvian prince sets a date for his Marina Del Rey restaurant

Ricardo Zarate, one of Los Angeles magazine’s 2012 chefs of the year, has finally set an opening date for his latest venture.

On April 2, Zarate will debut Paiche, his Marina Del Rey riff on a Peruvian cevicheria mixed with a Japanese izakaya.

Named for the nearly-extinct Amazonian river fish, Paiche will appropriately focus on seafood, and the oceanic vibe will continue into the décor, with a sea-blue color scheme throughout.

Paiche is offering the public a chance to dine at Zarate’s new digs before the doors open with a special lottery that can snag you a seat on Friday, March 29—two days before the official start date.
