Ninja Servers, Craft Cocktails, and Dinner by Sherry Yard at iPic Theaters

L.A.’s reigning pastry queen takes on another project in Westwood

Westwood Village, long dominated by some of the brightest movie theaters in the city, is getting another silver screen next month. iPic Theaters out of Boca Raton, Flor. will open a 424-seat, six-screen luxury theater full of amenities including seat selection, full-service bar, and a menu created by Corporate Vice President of Culinary Direction Sherry Yard.

Yes—that Sherry Yard. Longtime Spago pastry chef and Helms Bakery owner, Yard has created a menu that features some of fine dining’s greatest hits. Think: salmon tartare cones and lush lobster rolls. Concessions will sell more than Milk Duds. Helms Bakery will supply the theater with chocolate chip toffee cookies, triple gingerbread cookies, apple caramel ice cream cups with almond streusel, and creme fraiche rhubarb pops.

The bar program features craft cocktails named after famous starlets. Master sommelier and award-winning mixologist Adam Seger is behind the drink offerings. A separate Italian restaurant named Tanzy will also open within the new iPic Westwood. Details on Tanzy concept are forthcoming.

Service within the theater for premium plus ticket holders includes “reclining, oversized leather chairs, popcorn, pillows and blankets, [and] individual service-call buttons that summon ninja-like servers to deliver signature dishes or hand-crafted cocktails.”

iPic Theaters Westwood is now accepting membership applications. The new theater opens on May 2.
