From upscale sushi in Atwater Village to a pizza place with Hot Cheetos wings in Boyle Heights, here are some new spots to check out this month.

Morihiro

Rejoyce! Sushi master Morihiro Onodera, who earned a Michelin star at Mori nearly a decade ago, has opened up an eastside joint specializing in upscale sushi to-go. Treat yourself to a ten-piece omakase set or a seasonal Bento box. You can even purchase the chef’s favorite Japanese rice, uncooked and by the pound, for your own cooking pursuits. 3133 Glendale Blvd., Atwater Village.

Brooklyn Ave. Pizza Co.

This new pizzeria beneath the Paramount music venue features an eclectic menu from chef-owner Mario Christerna, a Boyle Heights native and MasterChef Latino judge. Make a hearty meal out of thick-cut fries topped with beef chorizo and queso fresco, Flaming Hot Cheetos chicken wings, and vodka-sauce pizza. The concept is the first of several food offerings planned for the Paramount. 2706 E. Cesar E. Chavez Ave., Boyle Heights.

Prince of Venice

Prince Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia previously had a food truck, as Italian royalty often does. Now he’s opened a brick-and-mortar place serving up everything from lemon bucatini and vegetarian lasagna to pepperoni pizza and panna cotta. 1091 Broxton Ave., Westwood.
