Where to Order Mother’s Day Brunch, Dinner, or Treats to Go

Treat your mom to something comforting
2046

The usual celebrations of Mother’s Day are a little tough to pull off while staying at home. Nobody’s going out for some elaborate brunch–and, really, does the thought of walking a buffet line grabbing breathed-on baked goods even sound appealing anymore? You can’t browse the mall for a last-minute gift either (though if you know just what you want, a handful of curbside-ready retailers might be able to help). And since most of us don’t live in the same house as our moms, so even an in-person hug is off the table. One thing you can do, however, is arrange for a Mother’s Day delivery brunch to land at her house–or drop off a to-go order yourself–while observing the utmost in safety precautions, of course.

Mother’s Day Delivery and to Go Meals

Spago

Wolfgang Puck’s flagship has enthusiastically embraced delivery and to go, offering a variety of fun, special meal kits. For Mother’s Day, pick from an a la carte menu of brunch favorites (Smoked salmon platter! French toast bread pudding! Quiche!) sweets from pastry chef Della Gossett’s “cake shop,” and great wine. Order on Tock. Available for delivery or contactless curbside takeout.

Nancy Silverton’s Mother’s Day Zoom Dinner by Osteria Mozza & Chi SPACCA

More than just a takeout meal, ordering this package gets your mom the next best thing to a dinner party with Nancy Silverton herself. Your kit will include a multi-course dinner, wine, cocktail supplies, soft drinks, and a ticket to hop on a Zoom hosted by Billy Harris, featuring a cooking demo, conversation, and more. The event benefits the Downtown Women’s Center. Order on Eventbrite. Available for delivery or pick-up.

A.O.C.

Order a Mother’s Day brunch kit, complete with your choice of dungeness crab frittata or Spanish fried chicken and waffle entrees. The all day a la carte menu is also available, as are dinner kits for moms that prefer an evening meal. Order on Tock. Available for delivery or pick-up.

Playa Provisions

Playa Provisions is offering everything from boxes of fresh-baked pastries to dinner kits that serve six, along with wine, cocktails, and self-care gift baskets designed just for moms. And you can feel good about ordering; Playa Provisions has partnered with Help Feed the Frontline to provide meals to emergency workers. Mother’s Day menu available online. Call 310-683-5019 to order. Pick-up and delivery available.

Avec Nous

Avec Nous is offering an elegant takeaway brunch option for Mother’s Day. The set meal is $49 per person, and includes six courses with a choice mains (including a vegetarian option). Add on a bottle of Champagne or a custom floral arrangement by Viceroy Hotel florist Jean-Pascal Lemire. Order on Avec Nous website. Pick-up only.

Redbird

Neal Fraser and Amy Knoll Fraser’s Redbird is offering a “breakfast in bed” kit for Mother’s Day, designed to be picked up on Saturday evening and finished in the oven at mom’s house on Sunday morning. The dishes are full of spring flavor–asparagus quiche, strawberry financiers, and more. Mimosa and Bloody Mary kits can be tacked on, too. Play Amy’s “Redbird at Home” Spotify playlist while you eat to get the full effect. Order on Tock. Pick-up only.

Jean-Georges Beverly Hills

If your mom is the type who appreciates a bit of luxury on her special day, Jean-Georges will hook you up. The fine dining restaurant at the Waldorf Astoria hotel is offering two packages. One includes chef’s own pancake mix and other accouterments for a semi-homemade feast for four. The upgraded version also includes a pampering selection of La Prairie spa supplies. Order by phoning 310-860-6717. Pick-up only, pick-up times available on May 8 and 9.

Cafe Dulce & Cafe Dulce Dos

Bring your mom something sweet with a box of fun, colorful pastries from one of Cafe Dulce’s four locations. Don’t forget to grab a matcha or coffee for yourself when you swing by to pick up your order. Cafe Dulce has been hard at work during stay-at-home, collaborating with other small businesses at risk of permanently closing, hosting online conversations, and offering ‘community feeding’ meals to hundreds of people in need due to COVID-19. Order from the ROW DTLA location by phoning or texting 213-536-9633. Curbside pick-up available.

Melody Wine Bar

When you can’t be there in person, maybe just send some nice wine. Treat her to something from Melody, where they have an array of rare bottles available for pick up, along with cheeses, breads, pasta, and everything a person could need, really. Order on Toast. Pick-up and delivery available.
