Where to Go for Mother’s Day Brunch in Los Angeles

Celebrate mom with a special meal

This Mother’s Day is likely to be a special one for many families, as it might be the first reunion for many moms and kids since the pandemic began. For others, it might be a chance to thank the mom you’ve been sharing a home with all this time who kept everything on track. Either way, it seems like a good time to celebrate your vaccinated spring with a luxurious Mother’s Day brunch in Los Angeles.

Mercato at the Beverly Hilton

Glamour moms can dine at Mercato, the chic poolside option at the Beverly Hilton, a popular Old Hollywood haunt. A mocktail cart offers special sips for moms-to-be and other non-drinkers, and dishes including Frosted Flake-crusted French toast, which just cannot be bad. Outdoor dining. 9876 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills.

Looking for a more low-key mom day? Culver City cafe goodboybob is offering a fun patio brunch, including Swedish vanilla bean pancakes, eggs benedict variants, and very good coffee. Outdoor dining. 9355 Culver Blvd, Culver City.

Che Neal Fraser’s Redbird is offering a family-friendly brunch experience, offering a two-course set brunch for adults with options including tangerine beets and duck confit chilaquiles. Kids under 10 get their own menu to pick from with waffles and other delights. Outdoor dining. 114 E. 2nd St., downtown.

40 Love

If your mom is like the mom of this author, she would probably enjoy nothing more than enjoying a daytime meal with you while also watching a baseball game. At sporty-chic 40 Love, she can do both. Indoor and outdoor dining available. 829 N. La Cienega Blvd., West Hollywood.

Jean-Georges Beverly Hills

For the type who appreciates a bit of luxury on her special day, Jean-Georges will hook mom up. From the Meyer lemon gelee and caviar starter to entree options including almond pancakes and soft-scrambled eggs with peas and mint, the menu is full of spring day flavors. Outdoor dining. 9850 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills.

Celestino Ristorante

Celestino is offering “late lunch and early dinner” service this Mother’s Day rather than the typical brunch. On the classic menu from Executive Chef Calogero Drago are dishes including homemade lobster ravioli and braised short ribs. Order 24 hours ahead if you want to indulge in a family-style lasagna.  141 S. Lake Ave, Pasadena. Indoor and outdoor dining, takeout, and delivery.

Chef Dave Beran’s “elevated French bistro,” Pasjoli, is ready to host you and your mom for a special brunch service. The multi-course, family-style meal includes plates of deviled eggs, quiche, asparagus, and other spring favorites. 2732 Main St., Santa Monica. Indoor and outdoor dining available.
