Here’s a way to kill two birds with one stone this holiday season: stock up on Christmas cookies (or send some to friends you’ll be missing this year) and help Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock foil Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s obstructionism by ordering a tin of yummy baked goods.

Suzanne Goin and Shannon Swindle of Lucques Group have wrangled an impressive group of local pastry chefs for their benefit “A Holiday Cookie Tin with Which to Beat Mitch McConnell” so Angelenos who can’t participate in the Georgia election on January 5 can at least attempt to nibble their way to a Democratic-led Senate, with VP Kamala Harris, as President of the Senate, breaking a 50-50 tie (the Senate is currently 50 Republicans and 48 Democrats, plus whatever happens in Georgia). The divine cookie box will include Roxana Jullapat’s Pepparkakor (Friends & Family Bakery), Sherry Yard’s famous Chocolate Almond Cookie (Great American Baking Show), Genevieve Gergis’s Classic Spritz (Bestia/Bavel), Isa Fabro’s Date Walnut Blondie (Bestia/Bavel), Sherry Mandell’s Tehachapi Rye Chocolate Crinkle (Tehachapi Grain Project), and Swindle’s Fig and Cranberry Rugelach—plus creations from the great bakers at Rossoblu, M. Georgina, Grist & Toll, Bakers Kneaded, Mozza, Valerie Confections, and Kismet.

The tins, which went on sale at noon today, won’t last long, but as long as they’re available, they can be delivered via Doordash or ordered for pick-up through Tock at either A.O.C. or Friends & Family Bakery between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The price is $75, and all proceeds go to the Warnock and Ossoff campaigns. You could say it’s one smart cookie.
