Here Are the L.A. Chefs and Restaurants in the New Michelin Guide

Nearly 100 local spots just got some global recognition

After a great deal of buzz, the first Michelin Guide to California has finally been revealed. The company awards one-, two-, and (very rare) three-star rankings to fine dining destinations as well as offering the distinction of Bib Gourmand to restaurants deemed good but not star caliber.

While a guide to the Bay Area and NorCal wine country has been published annually, restaurants in the rest of the state have been shut out since 2010. For 2019 the publisher decided to create a guide that would cover all of California, combining the Bay Area, returning to L.A., and expanding to San Diego, Santa Barbara, Sacramento, and elsewhere.

A full list of the mentions can be found on the website; the Michelin Los Angeles and Orange County restaurants appear below.
