Nibbling on cookies and listening to Mariah Carey nonstop are two of the best things about the holiday season. It was only a matter of time until they joined forces. This week, the pop icon launches a new, delivery-only cookie company, sending sweet treats right to your door.
Starting December 4, you’ll be able to order from a menu that includes holiday season favorites like gingerbread, white chocolate-cranberry, and pumpkin cookies, along with year-round classics like chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin.
Mariah’s Cookies is a “virtual” brand, meaning the recipes and name can be licensed by local restaurants and ghost kitchens in various locations. Los Angeles is one of several cities that will be graced by Carey’s cookie concept, which will be available to order via Postmates, UberEats, GrubHub, DoorDash, and Seamless.
And while, no, Carey won’t be personally baking the cookies you receive, she was involved in their development.
“Mariah and I have chatted over the years about working together on a food business and, with her love of baking, cookies were a natural fit,” says Robert Earl, co-founder of Virtual Dining Concepts, backers of the project. “It has been an inspiration to work with Mariah to develop this brand.”
The date of the launch is no coincidence: In addition to being National Cookie Day, this Friday is also the day that Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special drops on Apple TV+. Her glittery holiday spectacular features appearances from Tiffany Haddish, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, and more.
