Look Out for Lunch at Lukshon

For those who can never seem to snag a prime-time table at Sang Yoon’s latest restaurant, today brought some encouraging news: Lukshon will begin serving lunch tomorrow, Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The lunch menu will feature many of same items as dinner, such as shrimp toast, Chiang Mai curry noodles, and Kurobuta ribs. What’s really got our food-grade centrifuges in a whirl, though, is the unique (and exclusive) additions to the lunch menu, which include a “deconstructed” Thai beef salad, pork belly lettuce cups with pig ear and, most intriguing, a Shanghai matzoh ball soup (a clever nod to Yoon’s surrogate Jewish grandmother) made with schmaltz, chicken, sesame, and “orbital carrots.” It may not convert the Canter’s crowd, but we’re sure there will be enough Sony Studios execs clamoring for a taste come Tuesday.
