For the second year in a row, The Daily Meal has put out a list of “The Best Food Trucks in America.” This year, proving that the food truck scene in SoCal is alive and well, Los Angeles dominates the road with a proud 16 trucks on the list. New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, and Houston are all also generously represented.
Roy Choi’s Kogi Truck, one of our personal favorites, held the top spot last year, but this year slipped to number two. New York’s Red Hook Lobster Truck, which calls itself a “lobster shack on wheels,” is The Daily Meal’s favorite truck this year.
The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck out of New York, which has been popping up in L.A. lately, landed the fourth spot in this year’s list. The Buttermilk Truck (#12), Grill Em’ All (#16), and The Grilled Cheese Truck (#22) round out the top 25. Vizzi Truck (#38), Susan Feniger‘s Border Grill Truck (#39), and Seoul Sausage (#40) also get high marks.
