Night+Market Chef Kris Yenbamroong Is Opening an Art Gallery

Don’t worry, he promises he’s “not quitting [his] day job”

Not content to rest on his laurels as one of the city’s top chefs, Night+Market chef/owner Kris Yenbamroong announced a new project today that might seem like a surprising pivot. He is behind a new art gallery, Le Maximum, opening in Venice this weekend.

In an announcement of the project posted on Instagram, Yenbamroong described the art space as “conceived in the spirit of exploration and experimentation.” He was quick to assuage any fears that he might be leaving the kitchen for good, writing that “I am not quitting my day job–NIGHT+MARKET will always be my first love.”

Le Maximum will open to the public on Saturday with a reception for its first show, Blue Flowers, curated by Liam Considine and Becca Mann. The show will run through February 23.

Le Maximum, 2525 Lincoln Blvd., Venice.
