L.A.’s Favorite Cup of Joe Turns Fifty This Month

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf celebrates fifty years in L.A.

A notorious local java addict has hit the half-century mark. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, which in 1963 began brewing in Brentwood, is raising a mug to 50 years of perking up Angelenos (though it wasn’t until 1989 that it debuted the famed Ice Blended). The company has designated June 27 as Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Day in L.A.: Be sure to celebrate with the latest version of its frozen favorite—with sprinkles!
