In case you were unaware, Monday, July 6 is National Fried Chicken Day. L.A. may not be a fried chicken town in the way, say Nashville is, but there’s no lack of golden clucks in Tinseltown. Plan Check in Little Osaka (nee Sawtelle Japantown) serves epic bird, as well as DTLA’s Ledlow, which offers an all-you-can-eat option.
But no L.A. fried chicken mention would be complete with Culver City’s Honey’s Kettle, that little shop own and run by chef Vincent Williams, who’s been making chicken for over four decades. In honor of this sacred day, Williams is offering two bucks off any Honey’s Kettle meal (just on the special day).
Williams also wanted to share one of his favorite recipes: that would be his Home-Style Smashed Garlic Fried Chicken. Sounds clucking amazing.
