We are but weeks away from what I somewhat biasedly feel is the city’s very best food event. Yes, OK, it’s the Los Angeles magazine food event, and yes I help curate the lineup of top-notch restaurants and chefs, but I can’t very well help that now, can I?
This year’s event, which takes place on October 19 at the spectacular Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu (seriously guys, there are zebras—beat that), boasts a lineup of more than three-dozen restaurants that might just be our best yet. Among them [*deep inhale]: Angelini Osteria. Animal, Bestia, Bucato, Cliff’s Edge, Cooks County, Crossroads, Faith & Flower, Flores & the Ladies’ Gunboat Society, Goldies, Jitlada, Little Sister, Petty Cash, Sotto, Spago, Tar & Roses—and that’s just a sampling of the folks who will be, er, sampling their cuisine among the shady oaks and rolling vineyards.
On dessert duty will be L.A. sweets favorites including Donut Friend, McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams, Short cake, and more. And, of course, there will be liquid refreshments in the form of wine, beer, and spirits being poured by the makers themselves. Did I mention demos by chefs like Brooke Williamson of Playa Provisions, CJ Jacobson of Girasol, and Tal Ronnen of Crossroads? Well that’s happening too.
Throw in a guaranteed camel sighting and really, you can’t afford not to come.
Buy your tickets now, here. I hope to see you there!
