Like beer? Like bikes? Well aren’t you lucky. On Saturday, December 20, our very good friends at Hot Knives are hosting their 2nd Annual L.A. Grand Cru—a 22-mile beer-bike ride.
What’s a beer-bike ride you ask? No, it doesn’t involve a CamelBak full of Sam Adams. It’s a two-wheeled holiday gift shopping adventure that starts at Union Station and continues to the Hot Knives’ very favorite beer retailers across the city, all culminating in a deluxe keg party at the Verdugo Bar in Glassell Park. Bonus: vegan snacks from the folks at Pure Luck restaurant and—of course—Hot Knives. If that’s not worth the $10 donation, nothing is.
Here’s why the Hot Knives guys say beer is the gift that keeps on giving:
“Besides the fact that rare bottles of coriander and white sage-infused ales make festive, cheap and collectible stocking stuffers, we wanna show love for our local beer scene at a time when financial bummers have hit all retailers hard. So in the spirit of giving, we hope to support beer stores and score gifts for loved ones along the way.”
Need more convincing? Most of the stores will be offering special Hot Knives discounts for riders. Still more? Check the report from last year’s ride complete with video. Here’s hoping they bring the hot nuts this year.
