Guerrilla Tacos Is Putting a (Cinnamon) Twist on Taco Bell Classics

On Cinco de Mayo, Guerrilla Tacos will reinvent America’s most popular “Mexican food”

In honor of Cinco de Mayo–a celebration that has some connection to Mexico but is in its modern form a largely American creation–Guerrilla Tacos is offering a menu of recipes inspired by another American reinvention of Mexican traditions, Taco Bell.

“Cinco de Mayo is the celebration of the Mexican victory in the Battle of Puebla in 1862,” Guerrilla Tacos posted on Instagram. “Today, Americans celebrate it much more than Mexicans. So this year we have decided to serve our take on America’s favorite Mexican Food for Cinco de Mayo, Taco Bell.”

The one-day menu will include versions of the Doritos Locos Taco, Crunch Wrap Supreme, Cinnamon Twists, and a boozy play on the Baja Blast. Reservations can be booked on Resy.

“We are poking a little bit of fun at this Americanized holiday,” the restaurant notes, but it’s for a good cause. Proceeds from the special menu items will be donated to Save the Children to support the charity’s work with migrant families at the U.S.-Mexico border.
