Governor Jerry Brown Hearts Burrito King

The Eastsider L.A. points out that Governor Jerry Brown took a break from budget wrangling this week to pose for a picture in front of the original branch of Burrito King in Echo Park. The Governor’s press secretary tweeted the photo on Wednesday, noting that the chain has been a favorite of the 72-year-old Moonbeam since 1967, when the budding politician lived in the area—on Laguna Avenue and later on Lucile Avenue to be exact. Lurking inside that brown paper bag he’s holding? That’s a machaca burrito. Whatever the polls say, Mr. Governor, we approve.
