Get Pancakes for 25 Cents at Du-par’s Next Week

Eat like it’s 1938 at the grand opening of the diner’s new Encino location

The grand opening of Du-par’s newest location in Encino happens next week, and to celebrate the diner will be offering 1938—the year the chain was founded—prices. Their famous Old-Fashioned Buttermilk Hotcakes, the recipe for which hasn’t changed in 30 years and is locked in a Farmers’ Market safe, will go for 25 cents, and hamburgers will only cost 20 cents. If you’re still hungry, you can even cap your meal off with a 15-cent slice of fruit pie and 5-cent coffee.

Deal goes from 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19 and is first come, first served, so waiting in line is to be expected. You also have to dine in—no takeaway orders. The Encino diner will be the fourth Du-par’s location, joining those in the Original Farmers’ Market, Studio City, and Pasadena.
